I'm going to GATORLAND!!!

Howdy ya'll!

I've been in Florida for about a week- just got back. It was great catching up with my family. Plus! I got to hang out with a great friend of mine for a few days... drinking. Unfortunately, that meant I wasn't able to do any carving. I'll be damned if I'm going to check my tools. The T.S.A. would have to pry them from my cold, dead hands- Charlton Heston style.

~manly~

I DID however get a chance to do some "research" by nursing a hangover with a posse of genuine ALLIGATORS!
At GATORLAND! It's a real place, believe it.

Lake Placid aint got shit on this place

This is where they keep the baby gators.
It's absolutely terrifying.
Then there was a petting zoo. It was much less terrifying.

Time to get back to work!

...excellent (Mr. Burns' voice)

So, it's been a little while. I'm not holding up my weekly update promise- deal.
In other news, there is this pretty wicked-awesome art show at the Ugly Art Room in Brooklyn, New York, which has work from yours truly!

The show is titled Pull the Devil's Tail (get the "wicked-awesome" joke?) and a Martyr from Planet X print will be displayed proudly. Here is a flyer-

Ta-da!

Anyway, I finally got this new Camp-Death block drawn, inked, and redded.

Commence carving!

And don't forget I promised you pictures of that gross lino-face-thing.
You forgot, didn't you?

No worries, friends! I just finished the carving a few minutes ago and snapped a sneak peak.
Ready? Here it is-

HA!

You can barely see anything!

My monster died!

ALRIGHT! So this is kind of a bummer to announce, but my Manster block got destroyed... I know, "Say whaaat?!" Don't ask how; just know that the original block is gone forever. It's a bummer, yeah, but I'm pretty set on incorporating that movie into the CAMP DEATHS series eventually. So don't worry- it'll be back.

Anyspit, I've started on a new block for one of my favorite B movies of all time (ALL TIME!), The Alligator People! It's about this guy- he turns into an alligator. You just have to watch this.
Needless to say, I'm excited. I've got a pretty large portion of it inked too! Don't believe me? See for yourself:

Check it, bro.

And then there's this:

I don't think it's hard to see who my influences are when you look at my work. They run the gamut from the Misfits to Vincent Price (there are graphic artists in there too, duh). One of my favorite artists of all time, however, is the legendary contemporary printmaker Bill Fick.
I decided a while ago to make a print where I take most of my favorite elements in his work and use them in my own. The result?

(the result)

Obviously it's not done yet. I will be soon, though.
Expect picturesssss.....

Ok, bye.
