Commence CON!

Did you know VOLTRON originated in St. Louis? You do now.

Also, I ate a sandwich out of a trashcan... It was my sadwich. I threw it away and the trash can was otherwise empty. I got hungry again and went back for it. The point is people saw me and it might hurt my sales.

Oh well.

Awww Yeah!

Alrighty, I managed to draw carve and pull a few proofs of my new linocut in a few short days! Hooray for  neglecting work, family, and personal hygiene!

I threw my initials in the corners. You know, keepin' it real and such.
Also, can you find the IHxMP?

MAKIN' OF A LINO.

So, in honor of my first Science Fiction Convention, or "sci-fi con", I've decided to make a commemorative print. This modest guy titled, "Archon Brawl" satires the ongoing war between the two superpowers in science fiction: Star Wars v Star Trek.

(Also, these images were taken with my computer, so the image is already flipped...)

Commence carving!

SUP Y'all?!

Not much to post right now. I've got some pals getting married out on the East Coast. Thats cool, right? Unfortunately, I cannot attend- work and things. So I was sitting around and thinking about how I could waste my time while my close friends and closer friends are celebrating. That's when it hit me- SCI FI CONVENTION!

Yeah, that's right- soak it in. Your pal, Mike Pennekamp is going to be an artist vendor at St. Louis' own Archon 35! My goal is to score some nose-condy from anyone dressed as a cylon.

Ok, so it's not technically IN St. Louis. It was originally, but got moved over the river to the ugly cousin of the Lou, loving referred to as the Metro East.

Anyturd, I'm going to be hocking my wares at the end of the month. For super suuuper cheap too! I'm going to have all 4 of my Camp Deaths from Outer Space prints for $25 a pop! Maybe $30- I'll haggle. It's totally a gamble, but I'm hoping my brand of off-color science fiction artwork will fly with the rest of the vendors. If not, whatever- I'm awesome.

(you should check out Klaxons- they're musics is almost as awesome as their album artwork)

See you on the other side!

More Stuff!

Hey! I finished the "globe luxation" print. I colored the eye globs...

 Yuk

I also managed to get the Wasp Woman colored. The color on the face will probably get muted quite a bit- more like the burnt orange of the sweater. I'm also diggin the grey wash in the background.
It's titled, "The Queen".
You know... wasps and stuff.

aweshum!

There's a bunch more stuff going on too. Stay posted.
