Happy Halloween!

Alright, it's Halloween. The night when kids dress as devilish monsters and ghouls and drudge up and down neighborhood streets, banging on the door to every house in pursuit of treats which their parents will painstakingly sort through, searching for hidden razorblades and brightly wrapped poison.
It's an awesome time and I absolutely adore it- but enough of that...

I just finished a couple quick editions for Prints Gone Wild in NYC!

#1 Cyclops Pizza!

#2 "In Ryleh, dead Cthulhu waits, mowing."

Up next: PRINTS GONE WILD!

been a bit, huh?

Yeah I know, you haven't heard from me in a while. I've been busy... Well, not really. I have been pretty sick though- the flu, maybe? Poor me. Anyway, I've been trying to keep busy in hopes that I'll get a few smaller prints done for Prints Gone Wild. I'm going to start making more shirts in the near future too! Here are a few little pics of a few things in "the works":

(all day I dream about sex)

(cyclops pizza!)

Thats it for now. Occupy!

Armageddon

Alright- so the sci-fi con was pretty awesome, but dwelling on that isn't going to do me much good. Now's the time to move forward to bigger things... and when I say "bigger", you bet your sweet cheesecake fanny I mean it. I'm NOW working on a print for the Big (pain in the) Ass PORTFOLIO EXCHANGE!! Dimensions, 36"x 60"!

So that's going to take up almost all of my time, I'll let all you lovely people about my progress. In the meantime, however, I'll let you know about PRINTS GONE WILD!

Here's the deal, New York has this thing called "Print Week". It's basically like Fashion Week, but with less anorexia and sequins, and much more liquor-induced purging and black t-shirts. However, it's NEW YORK and theres something with a whole week dedicated to it- so there's going to be tons of ego and fine art razzmatazz going on, right? WRONG! At least, not with PRINTS GONE WILD! This is a two day print show/sale with the best and brightest stars of contemporary printmaking who will be selling their work for no more than $50!

Blame CANNONBALL PRESS for the excruciatingly affordable prices. Those guys wanted to organize a way for the public to experience the real printmaking world without that wine and cheese,  black tutleneck and blazer nonsense.

They wanted an alternative art fair, and wouldn't you know it? So did the rest of us! And here we are, six years later! Get ready for awesome!

WHOA DANG!

Archon 35 was a success! I met TONS of great people, got lots of feedback on my work, and there was free booze! I also made enough sales to break even. After all, that was my goal.
Also, make sure to check out Gary Bedell and his lovely lady Stacy Fisher.  For some reason, I can't find a site with Gary's work. I know he designs games for Black Lantern Studios but theres a bunch of other cool stuff- I promise.  Stacy Fisher makes oils for things. She looks like she showers regularly so she obviously doesn't make oils the same way I do. You can check out her stuff here.

Anyway, here are some pictures from this weekend:

The spread!

We were wished a good morning on Sunday by an enormous flying shark

This is truly a day which the lord hath made.

SO MANY AWESOME COSTUMES!

 Weeping Angel!

 Darth Vader!

(Charles Q. Cheese wouldn't flip me the bird.)

But let's not forget the whole reason I decided to do this thing in the first place- to expose a whole new crowd to printmaking!  I was able to bring the shop warhorse along and set up for some LIVE PRINTING! Also, I managed to draw, carve, and print a whole new block!
CHECK IT!
